Pepsi unleashed a 60-second TV commercial Thursday starring Beyonce dancing to her upcoming single “Grown Woman” and, of course, sipping on soda.
Dubbed “Mirrors,” the ad brings back some of Beyonce’s familiar outfits and moves in reflections in a dance studio’s mirrors. The commercial is part of Pepsi’s celebrity-infused “Live For Now” global ad campaign that launched a year ago.
“Embrace your past, but live for now,” she says in the ad.
Beyonce became the face of Pepsi after inking $50 million brand-ambassador deal in late 2012. This year, Pepsi was also part of Beyonce’s Super Bowl XLVII Halftime Show, introducing her performance with a 30-second crowdsourced video.
Beyonce’s face will appear on Pepsi cans this year, but her involvement with Pepsi began nearly 10 years ago when she appeared as a gladiator in a popular Pepsi commercial alongside Britney Spears and Pink. They sang Queen’s “We Will Rock You” as they tried to defy Enrique Iglesias, who played an evil Roman emperor.
